Stray Puppy Update

**UPDATE**
It seems that something fell through with Poncho getting adopted, so he is still looking for a home :( I received word from another volunteer that he's doing just fine though! But let's get him a forever home!!

They've both been adopted!! The boy pup, Poncho, is being picked up this morning. And as I mentioned in my previous post, the girl, "Janie", was adopted over the weekend. I found out Saturday night that is was one of Morgan's blog readers who adopted Janie! Morgan, I can't thank you enough for helping by posting on your blog :)

FLOYD!!

I can't help it...every time I say his name, it has to be in all caps. FLOYD!! is the cutest basset hound puppy ever. Hands down, there is no arguing here people. His ears are the softest ears in the world, and his chubby paws...ugh, I love them. Sorry for all the pictures, I couldn't trim it down anymore!!





I mean, how does this not melt your heart??!!

Stray puppy update: I ended up taking the puppies to the Humane Society last friday, it was so hard to leave them there, I would have loved to have kept them, but I knew that the Humane Society would get them all ready to be adopted by a loving family. On Friday, I checked the website and the little boy puppy (who we ended up calling Pancho, not Lefty) was on the site, ready to be adopted and that the girl puppy was already on hold by a family who wanted to adopt her!! That, obviously, made me so happy :) So keep your fingers crossed that Panocho finds a family soon!!

Oh Lucy!

I took these pictures a little over a month ago, but have had to wait to post them because they were for a wedding gift. Soooo, since the wedding happened this weekend, I'm in the clear. So many great pictures from this session, Lucy is such a model :)

Logan!!

My friends and I went down to Nashville to see one of our friends a couple weekends ago and had an absolute blast! I'm not sure I know anyone else other than my friend Leigh Ann who could handle the stress of 13 crazy girls staying in their house, sprawled out on air mattresses and couches. Leigh Ann has a dog, Logan, who is such a sweet puppy :)

I've been running with the dogs after work this week. I'm not sure if it's the nice weather that's finally motivating me, or the Gentle Leaders that both dogs are wearing now and are WONDERFUL on walks! Here is Crosley laying in the lovely mud spot in our backyard after our run, it must be cooler than regular grass, or else he just likes to get dirty:


And on the home renovation front, my craft room is finally somewhat organized!! I got my desk and sewing machine set up, and folded and stored all my fabric...the rest is still a mess, and we still need trim in the whole room, but I don't care, I can sew again!

I'm going to try to be better about posting more. More often, and more pictures. Spring is here, and that means lots and lots of dog pictures!

Jumping Dog in Action!

I finally got Ryan to agree to help me try to get some better pictures of Larkin jumping off our deck. We ended up with quite a nice little series :)

Jumping Dog has a new skill...

Friday on the way home from work I decided I was going to try to get some pictures of the dogs since it's staying lighter longer. So I get home, dodge the dogs claws while they are jumping up to say hello, grab my camera and head out the back door with the dogs. They wrestle for a bit right outside the door, and then they take off down the deck. I follow them down, only to realize that Larkin is not going to make the turn to get to the steps...he's going straight for the ledge! I quickly hold up my camera and push the shutter right as he's in mid-air (which is why this photo is crazy blurry). Check out the blur in the red circle:



I ran into show Ryan the picture on my camera and we just started cracking up. We always knew Larkin was a nut, but this just makes him that much nuttier! We both think it's his short cut to get away from his older brother. I got him to jump off again today while I was standing there, but my mission is to get an awesome, mid-flight shot of him from underneath...probably will wait for warmer weather though :)



Ryan and I are finishing up painting the back two rooms tonight (he's painting ceilings right now, I'm hiding at the computer pretending to do important work). Carpet comes Friday!!

House Update #458

Ok, so it's not really update #458, but it feels like it! Our bathroom is finished, so now we've moved back to working on the back part of our house. The craft room is drywalled, primed and ready to be painted and carpeted. Now we're getting the rec room ready to be painted and carpeted. We had our awesome drywall crew come and patch up the popcorn ceiling and the hole that my father in law fell through. Drywall dust is my nemesis, I can't stand it and it stresses me out, so this time I tried my best to keep it contained...and it might have worked...



So after the drywall was up on the ceiling, we got the carpet out, and this is how it looks now. I noticed this morning when I let the dogs out that there is an echo in there...pretty crazy. I also noticed that this is a great surface for tap dancing, if only I had some tap shoes, Ryan would loooove that!


The dogs are definitely taking advantage of having extra couches in all sorts of odd places, like this one, in our dining room/kitchen area. Please don't judge me on the condition of this couch, I'm almost embarrassed to post these pictures!! It normally has a cover on it, I promise.


I almost can't deal with Larkin's wrinkles, so precious.


This picture seems pretty peaceful to me...if you could only see whats hiding inches out of the frame :) More updates to come!

Rainy Days

Lots of rain today which means hyper dogs and muddy towels. Really makes me miss springtime and jumping dogs :)

Recent Pics...

Before Christmas, my aunt had me sneak some pictures of my uncles dogs...she had him in the family Christmas draw and wanted to give him some pictures of their dog Clint, and their new Akita puppy, Jade. Clint was such a ham for the camera, and Jade might be one of the cutest puppies in the world!

I love mud

Lots of mud around here lately, crazy Indiana weather. Since our bathtub is out of commission right now, it's been fun using wet towels to wipe the dogs down after they've been outside...this is a collection of just TWO DAYS!



You can't get too upset though, when later you catch them snuggling on the bed together :)
